On 5 December 2009, the Royal Thai Embassy in Berlin held a Royal Decoration Ceremony for Thai people who have been contributing unselfishly, tirelessly, and positively to the Thai community in Germany. The ceremony was held during the reception on the occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and the National Day of Thailand.

 

4 Thai people were conferred the Most Admirable Order of the Direkgunabhorn namely:

1. Mrs. Jiraporn Maier-Knapp
2. Mrs. Pongchai Rosenfeldt
3. Mrs. Payungsri Adam
4. Mrs. Pataya Ruenkaew

In addition, the Royal Decoration of Commander (Third Class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant was conferred upon Mrs. Hilde Van Inthoudt, First Secretary of the Embassy of Belgium in Berlin, for her role in promoting friendship and cordial relations between Thailand and Belgium during her tenure (2003-2007) in Thailand.
