In 2012, Thailand and Germany are celebrating "150 Years of Thai German Diplomatic Relations". The Royal Thai Embassy in Berlin is inviting everyone who is interested in joining in at rising to the occasion and celebrating and improving the friendship between our two peoples.

If you or your club or your association have a good idea of how to celebrate 150 Years Thai German Diplomatic Relations and how to improve these relations with an event or a project, we are inviting you to apply for the Embassy's patronage. Maybe you are planning a student exchange between your school and a partner school in Thailand, or you are organizing a film festival featuring German and Thai movies, or you want to show the Germans some of Thailand's culture by organising a Loy Krathong Fest or a kite competition - simply read the information below, apply - and be part of the German and Thai community celebrating "150 Years Thai German Diplomatic Relations!"

Guidelines and Procedure for Recognition of an Event


1. Guidelines for the Recognition of an Event

 (1) In order to be officially recognized as a “150 Years Thai-German Diplomatic Relations” event, the event has to take place in Thailand or in Germany and contribute to the following aims:

 -          Forming of a common awareness between the two countries and peoples (i.e. bringing together youth, media, etc.)

-          Strengthening and intensifying the bilateral relations (i.e. cultural activities)

-          Creating, broadening and deepening bilateral cooperative relations (i.e. science,education, economics)


(2) Events which aim at promoting undemocratic political ideologies, opinions or religious beliefs, events which are likely to cause violation of public order or public morale, as well as events whose main aim is monetary profit are generally being forfeited of recognition.

Responsibility regarding costs, organization and execution lie solely in the hands of the organizer.


(3) If there are major changes in the contents of the event after it has been recognised, the organiser has to communicate this immediately. In case, the event has been cancelled or executed in inappropriate ways, the recognition can be revoked.

 

2. Benefits of recognised events regarding “150 Years Thai-German Diplomatic Relations”

(1) The recognised event is allowed to be promoted on different means of media (Posters, Flyers, Websites, etc.) with the label “Officially Recognised Event 150 Years Thai-German Diplomatic Relations” and the respective logo.


(2) The recognised event will be shown in the official event calendar “150 Years Thai-German Diplomatic Relations” on www.thaiembassy.de as well as on Twitter.


3. Procedure for Recognition

(1) Required documents

  • Application form (German)
  • Outline and description of event, promoter/organizer and budgeting.
  • Information about the content of activities of applicant (outline of responsible organisations/associations, statute, activities in the past, etc)

 

(2) Application deadline

The required documents have to be handed in at least one month before it takes place.

 

(3) Recipient
